Sims Park is a five-acre natural sector in New Port Richey and is home to a super playground and amphitheater. President Bush visited Sims Park during his 2004 election campaign. Orange Lake, adjacent to Sims Park, boasts a winding sidewalk with sitting areas and is a favorite walking site for residents in the nearby downtown neighborhoods. Enjoy a fascinating wilderness walk through the 80 acre James E. Grey Preserve Park, the 8300 acre Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park or the Suncoast Bike Trail for biking, roller blading, walking and jogging.

  The new 3,400-acre Werner Boyce Salt Springs State Park located in Coastal Pasco County will soon be ready for visitors.

When it's an underwater adventure you seek, dive into the emerald green waters of Anclote Island where scuba diving and snorkeling are local pastimes. Take a memorable canoe trip along the beautiful Cotee River to its tropical origin or get active on the waterways around West Pasco, ideal for boating, kayaking, canoeing and fresh and saltwater fishing. Want to spend a day on the green? Test your skills on one of the private, semi-private or public courses of PGA caliber awaiting your arrival.

Within an hour's drive from West Pasco is the city of Tampa, Home to the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, you can cheer on your team to victory. Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg is home of the American League Rays baseball team. From children's teams to adult leagues, tournaments and training courses, the Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department provides programs and facilities for Pasco citizens.
